Online Selling in the New Normal

Everyone was not ready for the pandemic – the busy life that we have been used to suddenly stopped. Losing jobs, closing businesses, canceled flights; we all didn’t see this coming. Some people started to panic while some are doing all possible means to survive.

According to the recent record of the Department of Labor and Employment in the Philippines, 40% of Filipino workers lost their job, 25% of them are mostly from hotels and restaurants that shut down and 15% are from small businesses. For some that have been jobless found a new start and that is online selling.  Almost everything now is available on social media - from medical supplies such as face shields and face masks to food delicacies and even plants. Online grocery shopping also is now booming since it’s very dangerous to go to the market because of the rising number of the virus positive cases every day. Business establishments that were closed also found a new way to reach their customers and that is through online selling. They just post their products on social media and deliver it right to their customer’s doorstep. The lockdown in the country is a major factor why there was a rise in Filipino online sellers - may it be a small-time seller or a big one.

During the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the Philippines, Filipinos are not allowed to go outside their houses – that is when online selling became a total hit. Customers won’t have to go out to buy whatever they want, all they have to do is log in to social media and transact with the seller, the seller then contacts an authorized rider to deliver the order of the customer and the customer will pay it upon delivery. Contactless delivery is also available, where customers use their credit or debit cards to pay the seller and when the rider delivers their order, they will just leave it in a certain place. In this way, the rider and the buyer won’t have any contact which made most Filipino customers at ease and feel safe.

Online transactions didn’t stop after ECQ, it continued even after the lockdown most especially that some Filipinos are already back to work and they already have money to spend shopping. Another factor why it continued to be a hit is because of the upsurge of Filipinos that work from home who do not have time to go out anymore and finds it more convenient to order online. Apart from social media platforms, numerous online shopping applications in the Philippines have been very useful as well such as Lazada, Shopee, Foodpanda, Grabfood, etc. Online selling is a big help because malls were closed for a long time.

There were success stories of Filipinos who have been laid off from work but started selling various products online and now earning much higher than their salary before. Using social media as a platform for reaching customers has been proven effective and safe. Online selling may already be normal to other countries but not in the Philippines – not until this year. Online selling proved that the pandemic will not hinder anyone from gaining income. This just shows that as humans we never stop to be hopeful in whatever challenges we may face.

A Great Country's Next Step

Established by our founding fathers' great minds, built with great values and principles that were good and just, these brilliant men laid the foundation for this country. The foundation which GOD was at the center. The basis for which the greatest of all lands would be created.

Over time, many things have changed. Some for better and some for worse. As each ruler takes his turn at the wheel, decisions are made that shape our future. Over the decades, many policies have been put into place and implemented that undermine the original values, morals, and principles that were originally set forth.

Today, one of the greatest country on earth is at crossroads. Decisions that are made by its rulers and its people will have a profound effect on its future. People should make decisions together as one with Godly decisions. One's in which will benefit the country and not just ourselves. Because when a country benefits greatly in such a nature, its people will benefit as well.

So, where exactly do we stand? Where will we go? Who knows, we all have our own opinions.

Let us just hope that we can be united and not divided, to make decisions similar to the values in which this country was built. Because that is what has made this country great. Great, not in the sense of controlling the world and or spreading bad seeds, but great in good deeds. By following the original greatness that will bring us for the things that we desire, it will inherently create respect without demanding it, and it would be admired and appreciated by friends and foes alike from all around.

God bless you, and God bless America. May God guide and bring us together with our decisions as one again.

At Your Own Comfort Zone

There are all kinds of brand names and styles of Jeans. To be more specific, the Google dictionary defines Jeans as hard-wearing trousers made of denim or other cotton fabric, for informal wear. (https://www.google.com/#q=what+is+meant+by+jeans)

Some people like wearing jeans pants most of the time but others don't. Others may feel like it is comfier to wear jeans. For some women, they like to wear skirts and dresses often. But there are also exemptions to the rule if when you are going to attend special occasions. Like for instance, if you have an invitation to formal weddings, company board meetings most especially with CEOs, or when you are required to wear decent attire, you need to change gear.

Some people have favorite brands of jeans. To name a few; Levis, NYDJ, Miss Me, Lee, and Loft. These are pretty good jeans by far. And when it comes to styles of jeans there are different kinds also. Bootleg or boot cut, skinny, straight cut, and many more. If you are a little bit short, you might consider buying skinny and boot cut styles, because it could make you look taller.

Types of Denim can be expensive and affordable. And it depends on your budget cap. Whether the kind of jeans that you are wearing is expensive or not, what matters if it looks good on you and if you feel snug. If you prefer expensive jeans, and at the same time it is comfy to wear, then go for it. If you prefer being a frugal person, it makes you look good, happy, and cozy, well then, you are perfectly fine.

The Road We Take

The Road We Take

Different faces,
Different journey.
What would be the best route?

Sometimes it’s rough, with lots of rust.
Sometimes we feel like we are falling apart,
Just let it swing for a moment.
Sometimes it’s smooth, straight, and hassle-free life.

There are uncontrollable situations,
And we feel like we could no longer handle the situation.
Whatever it is, just keep going.
In the midst of it, brighter days ahead are waiting.

Some people may and will try to knock you down,
Don’t be discourage. They are part of the spices in life.
Remember hardships, frustrations, and failures are part of growing up.

If you quit today, there would be no more tomorrow.
So just hang in there,
Be your self and believe in yourself,
Have faith that you can do amazing, wonderful things,
Hope for the best,
Pray without ceasing,
Trust your gut and instinct,
Keep on trying,
Be confident in the right way,
Continue to be kind and loving,
Be surprised with those pleasant surprises,
Don’t forget to remember those triumphs in your life,
Acknowledge, utilize your strengths, and stay focus.

…and don’t forget you and I are perfectly and wonderfully made by our Creator
His plans and His will are ALWAYS THE BEST routes to take with!
